Sky Underfoot

Rain across the salt,
morning turning blue.
Mountains lose their edges,
clouds are passing through.

I walk into the distance,
but distance disappears.
Nothing left between
the sky and me out here.

Sky underfoot,
clouds below.
Where the earth ends,
I don't know.
One world above,
one underneath.
Sky underfoot,
and light beneath my feet.

White becomes a mirror,
blue becomes the ground.
Every step is floating,
without leaving town.

Far across Uyuni,
day and heaven meet.
I can see forever
shining at my feet.

No line to follow.
No edge in sight.
Only salt and water,
holding up the light.
