Catatumbo

Night falls over Maracaibo,
Warm air sleeping on the lake.
Darkness gathers on the water,
Then the distant heavens wake.

No moon can hold the darkness,
No stars can own the night.
The horizon starts to tremble,
Then the whole sky turns to light.

Catatumbo,
Fire across the sky.
Catatumbo,
White rivers burning high.
Again and again,
The darkness comes alive.
Catatumbo,
Lightning through the night.

Clouds rise over blackened water,
Mountains hold the heated air.
Flash by flash the night is opening,
Electric veins are everywhere.

Catatumbo,
Fire across the sky.
Catatumbo,
White rivers burning high.
Again and again,
The darkness comes alive.
Catatumbo,
Lightning through the night.

Over the lake,
Under the clouds,
Everything waits

CATATUMBO!
Fire across the sky.
Catatumbo,
White rivers burning high.
Again and again,
The darkness comes alive.
Catatumbo,
Lightning through the night.
